VEHICLE GUIDE
Officer's Responsibility: Officers are expected to adhere to all standards outlined in the Vehicle Guide. While the Vehicle Guide may not address every possible scenario, officers should follow its procedures as closely as possible. Non-compliance with the Vehicle Guide may lead to disciplinary action.
Supervisor's Responsibility: Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all policies in the Vehicle Guide are followed and enforced.

DEPARTMENT VEHICLES: Procedure No. 301-01
MARKED PATROL:
Vehicles that have visible markings are identified as “Marked”;
These vehicles may be used by all Officers at the precinct, and Officers are expected to be aware of the proper ratio of vehicle types currently active;
All marked vehicles must be equipped with a spotlight. This is only applicable to marked vehicles equipped with a spotlight;
All Patrol Officers are assigned a vehicle with a partition, unless on special assignment;
Vehicles belonging to specific special units must be used by their specific special units, of which have their own vehicle guidelines that those Officers must be aware of.
UNMARKED PATROL:
Unmarked vehicles do not have any markings;
These vehicles may be used by the following;
Supervisors (Sergeant and above);
Detectives (while performing Detective duties);
Patrol Officers (With Shift Supervisor permission);
Special Units.
PERFORMANCE MODIFICATIONS: Procedure No. 301-02
The Department authorizes vehicles with performance packages, so they may be installed with Engine, Transmission, and Brake upgrades.
The prohibition on vehicle modifications outlined in VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS will remain in effect.

Vehicles are not meant to be modified in any way other than the following:
MODIFICATION PARTS:
The following modification parts may be used if the vehicle has access to them:
Ballistic Door Panels - Removed (Trim)
Rims, where the rim name matches the model name of the vehicle being utilized.
EXTRA PARTS:
Not all vehicles contain extras, but for those that do they are numbered the following way. You are permitted to use them:
EXTRA_1 (Push Bumper)
EXTRA_2 (Partition) (Pushbar on HWY Vehicles)
EXTRA_3 (ALPR System)
EXTRA_4 (Spotlight in Up Position)
EXTRA_5 (Spotlight in Down Position)
EXTRA_6 (Extra Flashers)
EXTRA_10 (Shotgun)
EXTRA_11 (Carbine Rifle)
3. PAINT:
Marked vehicles may not change paint under any circumstances.
Unmarked vehicles may only use the following paint jobs;
Metallic Black
Metallic Dark Silver
Metallic Silver
Metallic Grace Red
Metallic Dark Blue
Metallic Beechwood
